Gave it up in between for around 25 years, and now at 52, have gone back to it with a vengeance - and I mean that. Over the past 2 months, I have amassed around 100+ coins of various denomination, conditions and alloys. Quite fascinating indeed. Being Indian (yes that Indian subcontinent as opposed to native American Indian), I have a special fondness for indo-british, indo-portuguese, Indian and of course Australian Pre-Decimal coins. I hope to pass on any expertise I may have on these coins as well as learn a lot from some of the stalwarts here. Report this Post to the Staff

I started off with regular run-of-the-mill British-India coins like the pice, pies, annas, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 silver rupees from various rulers. I then discovered the princely states and buy I was hooked. Have a reasonably decent collection of Kutch and Hyderabad , with a smattering of Mewar and Baroda princely states. My ultimate aim (should finances permit) would be to buy at least 5 gold koris from a Kutch ruler. Report this Post to the Staff
