1982 Error Lincoln Penny - Coin Community Forum

BK61 New Member United States 10 Posts	Posted 06/28/2023 07:15 am I have been doing a lot of research and there is so much to learn! This penny is two different colors. There is a line extending from the E in WE all the way down to the bottom of the coin, with the left side appearing darker. There is also a band of discoloration extending almost to his tie. There is also a crack under the date. My photos are not that great but the best I could do. Is this considered an improper alloy mix or a lamination error? Dutch-Tigger Valued Member United States 301 Posts	Posted 06/28/2023 07:32 am Greetings, this 1982 Large Date look like it has environmental staining, the photos are not good enough to discern if the lines are cracks or a Lam issue, but you can first dip the coin in 100% Acetone to see if some of the coloring clears up.
