Fantastic, Patriot - that's wonderful! Personally, I would hold on to it for a while - perhaps a long while. Keep an eye on the PCGS and NGC population reports - that may be your only way of determining how many there are (unless, of course, The Royal Mint fesses up and admits how many they made).
When the time comes to cash it in, I would investigate using either a UK auction house or a top US one such as Heritage.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Thank you for your reply Errers. Thank you Hondo for sharing your thoughts and wisdom on keeping it for awhile and avenues if I decide to sell. I wish The Royal Mint would say how many were released!

Wish I'd seen this earlier! I think the mule would be worth a lot more in a few years time if kept carefully in its original packaging. So sad...

@Spyro it has been the case for a very long time now despite even my reservations on slabbing .When it comes to selling coins on Slabbed coins double and triple the raw values at auction. In original packaging it would of been a mule in original packaging . I think it still would make good money but having a certification plus the PF70 it was hands down the best decision for this particular coin. Depending on the population of these mules although I can't see there being a boat load of PF70 I would think this would easily make 4 figures . It's a case of watch this space now for a few years

Thank you for your thoughts Zookeeperz. I am a fairly beginner coin collector, so your confirmation that it was a good decision to certify and slab this coin gave me a huge sigh of relief. It is an interesting ongoing search to see if any more of these show up. I appreciate all of the posts this knowledgeable group shares!
