wow thats pretty bad, anyway that could have happened after the coin was encapsulated? I was under the impression they wouldnt slab if they believed something would worsen & capsules were air-tight.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

I've seen very early coppers that looked like that in straight holders before, but yeah that's hard to believe on a Flying Eagle.

My best guess is that the pictures don't show how the coin looks "in hand".
In other words, "lousy images".
