NGC - Coin of the Day: On this day in 1571, the Royal Exchange in London was officially opened. This Great Britain 1844 Bronze Medal, issued for its reopening after a fire, shows its founder, Thomas Gresham.
Here is another small medal (28mm) commemorating the re-opening. I've alway held a grudge against the unknown person who decided the obverse of this one needed to be cleaned.
