If someone could post a link to the Philadelphia story about the crooked P and rarity that would be appreciated.
I have one that is slightly off but the Reverse side looks like a die problem to me.

Please let me know about the indentations from the mint.

@razz, I'm seeing a bunch of circulation marks on the surface of this dime rather than something that happened at the mint. With regard to the orientation of the mintmark, I'm not aware of a specific "crooked P" variety, but here is a link to the error-ref site talking about rotated mintmarks: https://www.error-ref.com/rotated-mintmark/

I'd totally ignore that source of information. In 1987 mintmarks were still applied to individual dies by hand and is completely normal be anywhere in the general vicinity. That's the trouble with youtube, there is so much misinformation.

I agree, most likely ALL mint marks were slightly crooked as they all were placed on the dies manually.
