Quote: When he heard about how I got so badly injured while serving over in Europe but was not "close to the action" as they say, he gave me his. That is a good friend.

I usually NEVER talk about this, and I won't here again, but I almost died in Europe following a catastrophic injury that took out my back, neck, damaged my face - my nose got crushed so bad that there is no longer any cartilage hold it in proper (normal) shape anymore. I have limited mobility due to my back and neck injury still to this day even after over 30 years after the initial injury. But the Worst of it was to my head. TBI, crushed skull, and PTSD nightmares, panic attacks, and now missing a part of my frontal lobe. I still have metal strips holding my skull together I had a ton more, but I had them taken out 'cause they hurt when I wore a cap or hat - and yes, I Feel them on very hot days. they are metal after all. . I have trouble typing and thinking coherent thoughts on most days. (if you only saw what I type here before I go back and fix everything so you all can understand it. I'll post up 2 images of my head taken from the VA imaging folks.

What a difficult journey you have had. Hang in there buddy! We don't notice any lack of cognitive ability. You'll always know a lot more about coins than I ever will!

Wow Dearborn. Well all I can say is that the coin center of your brain seems to be working at top capacity!
It's an important reminder that all of our men and women serving in the military are putting themselves in harms way every day no matter what role they have.
