Quote: 1904 Panama 25 Centesimos (minted in San Francisco)... Picked it up as a fluke - I was looking through someone's listings and nobody had bid on it. I submitted a stupid-low bid and won it! Well done!

Looking through my binder of "Miscellaneous Internationals", I came across this 1936 Uruguay 10 Centesimos that came in a large lot purchased at auction. Wish it were in better shape, as it was a beautiful coin when issued. However, the price for upgrading really jumps to get one in great condition.

There were about 500 coins in 2X2s for $100, so 20¢. All internationals, and about half of them are uncirculated. I think I did ok with that auction - just need to start listing them on ebay.

Thanks Hondo. Yes, that coin is in pretty good nick for an oldie.

The Uzbekistan coin is nice... I see what appears to be a variation of the sun image common on Iran coins. It's interesting that Uzbekistan was within both the Islamic and Soviet spheres of influence.

Quote: And it looks uncirculated! It is. I wonder where it's been hiding for the last 71 years.
