Hunker down out there all of you in the path of this storm. My mother and brother live in central AZ and will likely miss most of it. I'll be keeping an eye out to see how it goes - best of wishes and be ready.

Send some of the rain to Northern Canada might help save a few of our fire endangered Cities. . Disasters happen every where .

Best wishes, vermontensium. If you're going to get strong winds, clarify your yard of anything that could become a missile. Flip patio tables, take down umbrellas, lay chairs down up against the house. I've had to deal with far too many hurricanes here in south Louisiana.

Quote: Already downgraded to a category 2. Can't get complacent even if it's downgraded to a tropical storm. While you generally will have minimal wind damage, heavy rains from a tropical storm, especially if it happens to stall, can be absolutely devastating both in property damage and in loss of life.

We had a Sheriff helo making announcements warning of the heavy rainfall and life threatening flooding in the San Gabriel river and adjacent creeks. The homeless tend to set up shelters down there. Some probably have no idea what's coming. There will be many swift water rescue events unfortunately. Luckily, our house is on higher ground away from any mudslides or flooding areas. Still preparing as if we are going to get flooded though. I have sandbags in key areas

vermontensium, I forgot to mention but you probably have done this. Fill the gas tank of every vehicle you own.

Stave safe! When sandy hit us in NJ, it had just downgraded from a tropical storm we ended up having thousands of trees down and no more power for a week. Take these storms seriously.
