Xf details, too many hairlines

I've seen worse in straight grade holders though, you might get it.

Another disappointment. At first sight, the coin was shiny and reflective. It is obviously cleaned and also on the return pile.

several folks called cleaned. dang lighting gets someone again. there is no way the person who posted didn't know this and took the best photo to hide it or adjusted the photo. any collector thats been around a while can see it if the coin was in hand.

For what its worth, a huge proportion of Trades and SLDs are cleaned -- and there's a plausible notion that it may not have much to do with numismatics.

These coins were apparently heavily circulated in the ports. European traders apparently washed their coins as a matter of course. There's a literary description somewhere I read years ago, where a trader "cleans the silver" before the transaction as sign of respect.

For whatever reason, TPGs are also extra-forgiving about the old dollars. I've seen zillions of cleaned dollars straight-graded over the years.

TPG's are also extra forgiving about old dollars

I could not agree more. CAC which is very strict on originality makes this point in spades. I have been looking for an
1841 PCGS 58 CAC dollar for a type set. The PCGS price guide was just bumped from $2,000 to $2250. The CAC
price guide is listed at $3280. Coin Rarities Online offered one in March of this year for $3975.
I called within thirty minutes of receiving their early bird email and it had been sold and I was third in line if the other two individuals passed. This is not an isolated case.
