I am new here. I am actually a gun and ammunition collector, but coins are very similar, they are made of metal, have stamps and dies and possess history. Ammunition has a blend of chemistry and physics in addition to metallurgical stuff and a LOT of history too, but I am OK with having this side hobby. And if I ever graduate to paper currency, it is similar to ammunition packets and paper boxes, so again I'll feel almost at home.

I think the history is very alluring and holding part of it in your hands as a collection is really cool. Welcome to the site, I hope that you find as much pleasure here as I have in my first couple of weeks.
