Fields looked good to me. Bit of a weak strike on the top feathers. Curious to see if any of you think it's been messed with. Looked like some remaining mint luster to me, but if I'm wrong please educate me. Price was in line with what I was willing to spend.

I don't think the hit would detail it. It does look like a $100 coin which is about what you paid? Wear alone puts it at AU but the hit(s) and the obverse strike puts me at XF45.

It's just a battle scar!
Still a bit concerned about the color relative to the wear, but I think it squeaks into AU50.

Can't argue that. Muddy strike and it's got that "battle scar" above the eye, but the pictures don't really do it justice. Pretty in hand and I'd be pleased to get a TPG to slab it at AU53. Haven't decided whether to send it in or not. |
