One other thing about this eBayer, alisons coins, you'll notice that all listings are private so when you look at the feedback you don't know what was sold unless the person leaving the feedback mentions what they bought. I see they are now selling an 1895 S Morgan, most likely fake. One negative feedback states they were sold a counterfeit Morgan.

indian_hoarder thanks for call on fake and giving us a marker for it. you can see it on the received coin but not the original just another confirmation that the coins are not the same.

Received full refund and this dealer goes on the "Do Not Buy" list. Thanks again, all, for setting me straight on this coin and dealer, especially 52Raymo, Indian_hoarder and adam126402. You guys just saved me from a bad mistake.

Perfect example of how this forum benefits collectors as a whole group. Glad this one had a good outcome! Lots of knowledge here, just ask the right questions, post good pictures, and you will get good results!

What is ebay policy on this? Since you sent it back to them, they'll just do it again. Better to get the refund and throw the "coin" in the garbage.

The coin you received is counterfeit. The first one pictured is not.

I wonder if Bobby can do anything about this guy.
More reasons why CCF is one of the most valuable resources for any collector, I had no idea this was a fake, only that the color was off relative to the level of wear on the coin. Thanks to IGE, Everest, Indian Hoarder, RedRaider, Raymo52 and IndianGoldEagle as now I know what to look for in the future.

Right you are IndianGoldEagle. I reported the coin as counterfeit to ebay. If I'd gotten the coin I was bidding on (as pictured) I'd have been very happy. I'm in debt to this site and all of you for your knowledge and willingness to share it.

Seller's alt account mentioned above has another 1908-s for sale, if anyone wants more proof all he sells are fakes of rare coins. 134801977915
