Bats - did they charge you for relabeling/reholdering? Shipping too?

Congrats. Still a nice grade at 68.

Evidently, this variety isn't one that they attribute on the slab.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Super nice looking, congrats on this pick.

PCGS now recognizes a die chip as a variety and labels it as such. Catering to the newbies instead of the true variety collectors seems a tragic misdirection for the hobby.

For some reason I assumed they would offer a free re-submittal
for an obvious mistake they had made. Never assume.

..and making a die chip a variety is pitiful. It's so ridiculous, it's
redonkulous!

Thanks again everyone! This is a coin you just gotta love and now comes with a little story as well.

DOCC, they sure did charge me the full $25 reholder fee. It was submitted with three other coins so not much I can do about having to pay the shipping fee of a mere $27 and whatever the heck a "handling fee" of $10 is.

So I've done this before, but folks always learn when I itemize a PCGS submission here.

Four coins, all in PCGS holders, three of them are varieties (the 1970-S small date does not need a fee as far as I know since it is a recognized type).
Reholder fees : 4x$25= $100
Variety fees : 3x$20= $60
Shipping fees: $27
Handling fees: $10
Total cost: $197 for 4 coins, and they didn't even have to grade them.
