I was soldering a copper water line. Making a repair on my plumbing pipe in the bathroom. Well the propane tank blew a gasket and caught fire. I got burned from my ankles to my neck.

No, no property damage, it was contained to inside the tub. I was in it too with the propane tank between my legs when the seal blew. It is the small tank that plumbers use for soldering copper plumbing. I heard the seal go and tried to turn it off but it flashed over before I could. All I saw was a huge fire ball and I was in the middle of it.

Oh how painful that must be! I had one go up on me this past week too because of a leaky torch head. I was afraid that the tank would blow up and I tossed it out in the yard. Put on some thick gloves and was finally able to turn it off but burned a finger tip doing so. That stung for hours. can't imagine how painful your injuries must be. Get well soon my friend!

I had to grab the torch and carry the thing, all on fire outside and sink it in the pool to put it out. Then to make sure the house wasn't in fire, then in to the cold shower for 10 minutes, then I drove myself to the ER 15 miles.

That sounds terrible, Dearborn! My prayers for a speedy recovery. I know from experience how badly burns hurt. I hope yours aren't too extensive.

The nurse just came in and covered my body with bacitracin burn ointment. I'm covered from head to toe in it. The morphene I'm on at the moment is helping out a little bit
