Here's a quarter I bought many years ago. It's got great luster, and I love the numerous die cracks and clashes, especially the star behind the neck, the arrows near the forehead, and the stripes of the shield in the ear. I pulled this out because it's going to PCGS this week. Any thoughts on grade before it comes back?

Interesting die breaks and clash marks. Looks like a dipped MS-63.

That's a crazy die clash. I think the nose and chin are also clashed on the reverse. Hard to tell grade from the images, AU58 or MS63, even MS64 possible.

Agree that you can see the clashed nose and chin on the reverse, as well as the neck line between two stars.

would like to see this one without overhead lighting. too much glare to see the surfaces properly. looks like scratches in front the profile, jaw and cheek. reverse looks nice

might pull MS64

Luster looks strong although these photos maybe don't do it justice. I see a long, shallow, old scratch across Liberty's cheek plus some contact marks on jawline and neck. The coin otherwise looks pristine with a good strike and no signs of wear. There is no toning which I suppose could be due to a gentle dipping. Nevertheless, eye appeal is excellent. The clashes are very cool.

Unless PCGS does something heinous like detailing it for the scratch, I think it should get at least a 63.

There is definitely too much glare in the original pics, so I took some additional photos with less light. It has excellent luster, so I see no indication that it was dipped in the past. There are some bag marks on the face, but all the marks in front of the portrait are clash marks.

64 if not for the rim dings. With some of the rim dings present on the coin, I'll go with MS-63.

Thanks everyone. I have this at 64 myself, but we'll see what PCGS thinks. Looks like a 2 month turnaround time.
