Fantastic Day 3 error. I know very little about these, but am enjoying seeing them.

Day 4:Got a two-fer for you today! These sequential $1.00 Federal Reserve Notes are particularly nice examples of a " Missing Second Print" error. When the second printing is missed (for whatever reason), the note will be missing its face printing, which includes the denomination, subject and series information. As a result, there's no way to tell what year these were printed. [Once again, the backs of these notes look like perfectly ordinary $1 bills, which is why I didn't include a picture of them.]

@barry, I see that the two notes from today have sequential numbers. Does this mean it is likely that all notes on the entire sheet have this same error?

The above two consecutive errors are from two different sheets. The sheets are overprinted in reverse order, highest to lowest serial number and stacked so when they're cut into packs, the serial numbers are consecutive.
Cool errors Barry.

They're actually quite valuable. This pair sold a little over a year ago.

Well, considering what I paid for them, I would certainly hope they are valuable!

Quote: The above two consecutive errors are from two different sheets. Sorry for the noob questions, but I'm just learning a bit today. This means that both sheets only contain notes with this error, right? Or can this error only happen on isolated notes on a sheet?

I'll have to defer to SteveInTampa on that one.

Quote: This means that both sheets only contain notes with this error, right? Full size, 32-subject sheets receive both the 1st print (back) and the 2nd print (face) and are then cut in half into 16-subject sheets before receiving the overprint. So there's a potential minimum of 64 notes with this error if the other half-sheets weren't discovered and pulled.

Thanks for that. How little I know about this aspect of paper money collecting.

Just to confuse (or clarify) things further, I just saw the following notes up for auction on ebay: Three consecutive notes, but only the middle one is missing the second print. Does that mean the second one came from a different sheet than the first and third?
