I am curious, is there any significance on why there are only 7 digits in the serial number since most I see have 8 digits?

Was it an earlier print or is it just "no big deal"?

Thanks in advance! RK

Your suspicion about it being an early print is correct. I've actually seen single digit serial numbers on some large size notes.

On today's small notes, 0's are added at the front of the serial number to maintain 8 digits. On large notes, the serial number started at a simple 1 and went up from there, so you can have anywhere from one to eight digits in the number.
