Very nice I like it all my father had 5 of these sets minus a few 1909 s vdb s one of which was sold at auction. In time I will post the 4 remaining sets after I go through them. It took home a lifetime to do .great collection and congrats on a job well done.

hfjacinto, I noticed that the album with the green cover marked "Flying Eagle & Indian Head cents 1856-1909" does not start with 1856--it starts with 1857. What's up with that?

If the album had a 1856, I would have skipped the album. Whitman used to have a 1913 V nickel Slot in its Liberty nickel folder. Seriously? Who would put a million $ coin in a folder?

Quite a journey and amazing all the personal effort you have put into your collection over the many years since I also loved collecting cents first as a kid. Quote: Seriously? Who would put a million $ coin in a folder? The best quote I ever read on this on forums which jumped out at me...quote "I bought one (a 1909-s vdb Lincoln Cent) today (my second one), cracked it out of the slab and filled that hole in my little blue Whitman folder, something that I have been wanting to do for 57 years! A childhood dream come true..." but thats not a million dollar coin. I also read about that collector Stewart Blay who died, who had painstakingly purchased each coin one at a time by attending coin shows around the country and searching for the best of the best. So while we all have our preferences on what we collect and how we store them (and you don't like zinc cents), I really like what you have put together there.

I've thought about what I'd do with the higher valued coins and having empty slots in the album and decided I'd take a more common year and put it reverse facing front in that slot to signify that I had that coin but it was slabbed or in a flip or whatever.

One must be happy with their choices, so to each their own! As for me... I have cracked three slabs to fill Dansco holes and before I am done I will free three more.

Your suggestion makes sense and I have done that for other albums. If I didn't already have a full set of cents, I would have cracked out the 2 missing.
