gorham_collector Valued Member United States 426 Posts	Posted 12/21/2023 3:22 pm Common occurrence seen on quarters with incused devices around the rim. If it was a doubled die. You'd see the incuse devices being skinny, and wavy looking. For example on the shield cent MAJOR doubled die reverses the EPU which is incuse is always skinny and wavy looking not uniform at all. So that's what you'd want to see for a doubled die. The design gets distorted as the working hub and working die stirke and click into place and what not. That's why epu looks as it does.
