I'm pretty new to this. I bought the Alexander drachm a year or so ago. Then I occasionally added more. My latest purchases are the Marcus Aurelius and Geta denarii.

What characteristics do you look for when making a purchase -strike, centering, clear text, no planchet errors or other aspects? What is your favorite place to find the coins you like?

I like vcoins, ebay is good if you are more experienced because of the fakes being sold .

Thanks guys. I like Vcoins, but I'm not comfortable with ebay unless the coins are graded and the seller has a long history of selling coins.

I'm partial to the "good emperors" and I've found the stories of their families interesting.
