A couple months ago I bid on and won this coin on ebay in a competitive auction. Seller passed my normal pre bid examination and most coins they listed were $500 + and slabbed with good feedback. Looked good what could go wrong?
Coin arrived and red flags started flying:
1. Holder was sharp edged just felt different than my other smooth well locking PCGS slabs. It stacked but you had to press it into other PCGS slabs. The numbers showed but no Gold Sheild photos as it was a 2008 - 2009 gen.

2.Coin looked good ( I didn't see any tooling) but almost too good for an MS-61 I wasn't getting warm fuzzy's off this coin.

3. I took coin with me along with 3 other slabbed gold quarter eagles won at
Greatcollections to two gold and silver buyers I know with the new $2,900.00 SigmaPro's not the old $1,000 models. The coin read ZERO not even near the brackets...my GC coins immediately showed 90%.
We tested this coin multiple (10 +) times and ZERO gold. I took pics.

I immediately contacted seller and asked about this coins history and that it appears fake. No response. I contacted ebay and initiated a return the very next morning, ebay AI directed me to "contact seller attempt remedy".
I emailed seller and offerd to send it to ANACS 5 day turn around (with their written approval) at my expense and regardless of grade if coin comes back genuine then all good.
No response from seller.
Thats when I called ebay and flat out told ebay coins counterfeit and I could prove it. Things went fast from there...seller sends me postage paid slip with 1. No tracking 2. $100 Insurance 3. No signature required.
Forget that! I paid out of pocket for Priority, $550 Insur. and signature required. By now I figured he was a scammer betting on my carelessness...or maybe I'm paranoid? Nope the day I got my money back he ghosts his store and all his high dollar slabbed coins.
Folks this gold Indian was the best highest quality counterfeit I've not had pleasure buying.
Be careful! buying Gold Eagles on ebay!
I'm not naming names for about 10 reasons but this guys slick. Yes from step one with those blurry pics should have moved on but his coins all looked like android home shots and he had everything else the feedback, scarce slabbed coins etc.
No more Gold on ebay PERIOD! I permanently closed my account this was the 3rd counterfeit Gold Indian off ebay in 5 years so I'm 0 for 3 and its only DL GC Heritage Executive Coin Coast Coin or SDBullion for me!
Be careful folks.

I think that for the benefit of the members here, you should tell us who the seller is so that we can avoid being scammed.

This was the coin nothing added up with this seller or with the slab and the coin. I still could be wrong but the sigmapro readings indicate the coin is not genuine and my personal opinion of slab is that its fake.
PCGS was notified and offerd to review the coin but offerd no turn-around time line. Because of ebay return policy's PCGS review was out of the question.

Yes I could be wrong. However I've choose to go with the opionions of 2 individuals who make a living buying and selling gold over my own knowledge of Gold Indians. The coin simply did not read within brackets nor anywhere near.
