At first, I thought this was a huge die chip then upon closer inspection, I saw the scrape marks. What I don't understand is why what appears to be a chip is on top of the scrape marks. It doesn't appear that the chip is metal pushed up because it looks as though the scrape marks go under the chip. The two arrows show the scrape marks nearly under the chip. What do you think?
Yes, John, definitely a scrape, PMD, but I am trying to figure out how that "bump" appeared. It is not pushed up metal from the scrape because the scrape appears to continue under it.
The scrape does not extend into the fields but remains on the devices instead. Trying to understand how this happened other than there being PMD. Struck thru debris perhaps?
Thanks for the help. Used a different microscope and can see that the scrape extended over the "opening" in the lighthouse. What I am seeing that looks like metal "glob" is actually the opening in the lighthouse. No pushed metal, just scraped over the opening.
