On November 1, 1945, three B29's attempted the longest recorded flight in world history flying from Hokaido Japan to Washington D.C. An earlier attempt was made in September that included Generals Giles, O'donnell, and LeMay. Both of these first two attempts failed to break the world flight record. A later flight from Guam to Washington apparently succeeded.

This short snorter is from the second November 1 attempt. I am related by marriage to the navigator on one of the three planes and who is listed on this Cuban one peso note.

Does anyone have any idea as to value for insurance purposes?

I know that in prewar training my father-in-law made his final long distance flight training in a flight to Havana, so that is most likely where his note came from.
He also spent nearly a week barricaded in the Havana Hotel due to a severe hurricane on that flight!

These things can become addicting!

Here is one of mine from a few years ago that I bought at a small coin show up in Oklahoma.

One of my favorites of the ones I have kept. You just don't see them much anymore.

Steve is our go-to guy on notes, let's wait for him. You might want to get it professionally graded and slabbed.

Prewar long distance training flight from Kansas to Cuba. Most likely where the Cuban note came from.
