@DOCC: "Seriously, so everything just freezes in time. No more circulation, no more oxidation, no more wear, no buffing out the cast bubbles?

The MINT reworks dies all the time, are you claiming that a mold cannot be changed/adjusted/refined once created?"

Now, now, I said I was trying to learn about coin castings - no reason to get snarky with me. I appreciate the information but be nice about it please.

I managed to snap a few more images of the coin. Sorry about the quality. Thank you for the quick responses and insight of what to look for. Much appreciated I am still optimistic about it, the coin looks better in person than the camera on my phone can convey.

Well, I have been following on this thread now, and with new photos (thanks!) I'd highly recommend sending this coin off to a major TPG for authenticity purposes preferably PCGS, NGC, or Anacs.

There are still a few "off" areas on this coin that could still prove problematic as some of us have mentioned already, but if this coin is the real deal then you have a major rarity as we know this coin can be extremely valuable of course. If it comes back in a "body bag" from a TPG, then we will all know. Just some ideas I am throwing about...

Does not matter how many pictures you take. If you send it in, it will be a waste of money and time.

If you are to sent it off to anybody - sent it to ANACS - you won't need an account with them that you have to pay on, and they are the least expensive to send to.

BUT, that being said - If (IF) that coin is real, and authentic, you just dropped the value of this coin my a HUGE amount by handling that coin like you did in these last few images.
Don't handle any coin you suspect to be of considerable value by its flat surfaces (the obverse and reverse) Especially without white cotton gloves.
If you have no gloves, only handle by the edge of it.
