Six weeks have elapsed and I now have the graded 1873 Silver Trade dollar. NGC have graded it as 'XF Details Harshly Treated' I don't know what that means and how does it assist me in making a valuation of the coin?

I have uploaded the image of graded Silver Trade dollar

Thanks for you past help.

Thank you for the update.

Based on earlier opinions, this was not unexpected.

Values for details coins are difficult to determine. My uneducated guess is probably is a significant percentage off a straight grade. 20-50% maybe? NumisMedia has it at $360 for XF-40. The only way to know for sure is to list it and see what you get. As an inherited piece, I have to assume the sentimental value is higher.
