This may not be appropriate to this thread, but many people don't notice the difference between English and Scottish shillings of Queen Elizabeth II. Here are two 1955 British shillings. The thing to look for is the lions on the shield! English on the left, Scottish on the right!

Unaware of that variety, triggersmob! Will look out for it in the future! Here's a variety of the 1950 French 20-franc coin. On this one the designer's name is shown as GEORGES GUIRAUD:  On this one his name is shown as G. GUIRAUD:  The 1950 French 20F is a bit like the 1982 American cent. They exist with and without a 'B' mintmark, some have extra tail deathers on the cockerel and some have the full name of the engraver and some don't. So there are eight different coins to collect and some are very common and others very scarce!
