I hoping some of our Canadian colleagues can chime in with some grading thoughts. A metal detecting find that just got out of it's 4-day Acetone bath - my oldest Canadian silver find to date.

Fairly significant LAM on the obverse. Don't really want to take my restoration any further without knowing what I might have in hand.

Nice find. Did you also post in the metal detector section?

From Charlton Catalogue mintage 1,700,000 - VG-8 is $11 - F12 is $20
I'm thinking your is a F12 may go 15 if the rev is done again in acetone and touched with a tooth pick softly.

thanks mc, I was thinking a bit less wear than that but was only basing on rev leaves. with values climbing once VF-XF range is in play I wanted to inquire first. I'll give the reverse a VC round with a qtip roll. try and lift some more crud.

does the obv LAM drop it down in your opinion?

VF+ Imo. Tender loving care needed. The lamination will attract some and discourage some. Nice find.

I'll post some updated images in a day or two. Fine line between creating a details piece and getting a straight grade. Not that I'll be grading, just saying.

Updated images, might have taken the reverse a bit too far but, no turning back now. I'm low to mid VF.
