@jeffbuckes - Being you're from Boston, you might know the answer to this question: How many beans are in every can of Boston Baked Beans? If you don't know, scroll down: . . . . . . . . . . There are EXACTLY 239. Do you know why? If there was just one more, it would be Too Farty (240).

@Winesteven - that's a good one, hadn't heard that before, my dad would've loved that one!
@jpsned -
I've been spending half dollars and $2 bills off and on for years. Some people are indifferent to them, and some people say "hey cool!". I mentioned earlier the red seal $2 bill I left in a tip jar and the clerks fished that out before I even left the store. They loved it. One clerk out in Colorado got annoyed when I paid with a half dollar and said "what am I supposed to do with this?" and one clerk in Florida had to check with her boss before she could accept my half dollars (she thought they were dollar coins). Similar stories with the cull Indians I spent last year. Most go unnoticed which surprised me because they're pretty heavy compared to zincolns. I'll report back as I go with these dateless Buffs.

Dropped a few more buffs in the tip jar at a lunch place yesterday.
I don't get to this place often because they're off my beaten path, but they do good food, and they're one of the last restaurants I know that's still cash-only!
It's a one-man operation and the guy works his butt off prepping meals, bussing tables, taking orders, etc.I hope he likes his buffs :)
PS: my wife asked me if dateless buffs are worth anything. I said no, not to a seasoned collector, but I think non-collectors will get a big kick out of them.

Dropped a few buffs in the charity jar at my local grocery shop.
Eventually they'll dump all the jars in a deposit bag and bring them to the bank for counting.
The bank will probably send the coins to Brinks or Wells Fargo etc for processing and rolling.
Could be a few months or years but one day those buffs will end up in a roll, then a till, then a customers hands.
So fun to think that these coins have been bouncing around for 100-ish years... back in circulation!

Quote: Hopefully we will see them here some day. I follow some of the Coin Roll Hunting threads here and I get a kick out what people find. Especially silver because that's my first love. I don't have time or patience to look through rolls for varieties and die pairings etc from Lincolns etc so hats off to those folks. But if I ever cracked a coin roll and found a buffalo, dateless or otherwise, I'd be excited. And I already have so many that I'm sending them, even so I'd be thrilled. So, yeah, this is for the novice collectors, the roll hunters, and Joe Public. Let the fun begin. PS: I stopped picking Wheats from my change a few years ago. Love them, but don't need them so I let them circulate.

I believe the heavy hitters of CRH find it relaxing. I am no longer one of them. I quit when I lost the inside contact who let me know when the promising CWRs came in.

Quote: wish I could watch when they see the coins You can watch! Just gotta spend some buffs from your own stash :) I held onto my dateless buffs for many years because I like them, despite their having limited collector value. Same with my sack of wheats and some low-end Indians. It waa hard to set them free at first but I feel good knowing that hundreds of people will find these and enjoy them one day. PS: dropped a few more buffs in a tip jar at another lunch place. Maybe 40 or so to go.

No way would I spend that one. Quote: PS: dropped a few more buffs in a tip jar at another lunch place. Maybe 40 or so to go.
