Is the mark on Sally Ride's face is a strikethrough or a lamination peel. Also, the seller said that it's an improperly annealed planchet. There are traces of discoloration if you zoom in on the images, but I think that might just be PMD. What do you think?

The damage (reed mark) to Sally Ride's cheek was caused by the edge of another quarter. That coin circulated for a bit so the discoloration could be toning or staining of some sort.

I believe I'm seeing post-strike damage. Agree, looks like a reeding ding on Ride's cheek.

If you are thinking about buying this coin for more than 25cents, do not.
