I'm almost at the end of the 12th Century with this Denaro from the Italian City State of Brindisi:

@spence, if you have that coin as Spahr 32, for info, MEC 14 has this as #488-491 and places it at the Messina or Palermo mint, dating it narrowly to 1196-1197.

I've got a few more varieties of Brabant deniers. This one "with lion," Henry II/III 1235-1261

Good eye @tdz. I have it ascribed to only the year 1196 AD, but maybe that is a bit of an over-simplification based on the latest thinking.

I can't find good pics of my last 12th Century Denar, so will skip ahead to the 13th Century for now. This Pfennig dates to the first half of that century and was minted in Salzburg.
