Glad to have you posting some old Danish coins on this thread @t360! Here is a late-14th Century Bracteate from the German city of Tiengen. These are super-thin, almost like a foil rather than a coin. Also, @dear I think maybe you are forgetting that you already asked me about when I started transitioned away from US and moved to world and medieval coins: http://goccf.com/t/466983&whichpage=42#4120674

Quote: The first hvid appears to be Frederick I (1526-1530) minted in Visby, Gotland The second hvid appears to be Christian III (1554), minted in Copenhagen Those are very nice coins, especially the second one, and pretty rare too! Both are minted for use on the island of Gotland, which was under Danish rule 1361-1645. Since 1679 it belongs to Sweden. Its capital Visby is a beautiful town, with many parts of the Medieval town preserved, including the city wall. The name hvid means white, and reflects its color due to being made of good silver. And, before anyone else finds out , a hvid = 4 penning, so strictly speaking out of scope for this one penny/penning thread, but I'm glad you showed us these two beauties!

No problem at all, t360.
Gotland, and in particular Visby, is a very popular destination for Swedish tourists. During summer - which is the best time for a visit - it is pretty crowded with tourists, so book accommodation early. The Medieval Festival held in Visby in August every year (Aug 3-10, 2025 next time) would perhaps be something?

Those medieval Danish coins are awesome @t360! Only two more coins for me to post from the 14th Century. Second-to-last is this Hungarian Denar that dates from late in the 14th Century up through the first quarter of the 15th Century. It is another one that I haven't previously shown on CCF.

This Austrian Pfennig dates to a fairly narrow range around the year 1400 and features a ram's head facing left. The edge chip is a good reminder that old silver sometimes gets brittle.
