Here are a pair of Denari from the Italian City State of Aquileia that date to the first decade of the 15th Century. It was issued on behalf of Antonio Panciera, who evidently is one of the dudes buried at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.

it never ends, huh Spence?

It will end, but not for some time.

Many of my coins of the 1400s are dated as that has been a primary focus of my collecting for some time. The dated coins tend to be the larger denominations so I think that we will progress more quickly now. With that said, I'm hoping that we will continue to have robust participation from other CCF folks on this thread.

Yes good eye @t360--it is called a "Limburger Rose" in many auction descriptions. Not sure why though...

@dear, lots of good stores on ma-shops.com--it is like vcoins, but for Europe. I also buy frequently from Frank Robinson and Karl Stephen, both of whom send out periodic mailing lists.

Moving a little south is this early-15th Century Heller from Jülich (Bergheim mint):

Here is a 15th Century Denaro from the Kingdom of Sicily. It was minted at Messina.

This uniface Austrian Pfennig was minted in the first quarter of the 15th Century under the Authority of King Albrecht V. I haven't posted it to CCF previously. Thx again to @era for the idea behind this thread so that we can get so many new coins shown here!

No worries--hope to be inspiring you to dip your toe into medievals.

For reference, if this most recent coin tickles your fancy, here is a link to a list of several dozen up for sale rn:

I have been quite happy with my previous purchases from Saenn, Koci, and Loebbers, but there are several others European dealers with these in stock too.
