I "upped" my subscription order for : 3 - Uncirculated Sets 3 - Proof Sets 3 - Silver Proof SetsThis covers all bases for me. If I "gift" one or two, if I ever want to "crack one". If I ever need the money and have to sell one. Whatever, I'll at least have one Set that can remain in my collection. These will easily maintain a nice premium over issue price for the rest of time IMHO. So, I decided to have them in triplicate ! Next year I will reduce my subscription order down to just "one each".

I ordered one silver proof set and one uncirculated set last night. Never ordered one before but I guess got the bug reading all the posts!

I said 0. Proofs just aren't my thing. Would rather spend the money on a nice MS coin.

I want one regular, one silver, and mint set. What is the issue price?
Will they all be shipped at different times so that I have to pay S&H 3 times?

Two mint, two proof and two silver. One to save and one to crack open for the Dansco albums.

I never buy proof sets or prooklike coins the year they come out. I always wait 3 or 4 years, this way I get them at 50 % off from what their original Mint value was. The longer you wait the cheaper they get, that's what's fun about collecting Mint sets and proof coins. Glenn

glenzy1,
that works great at times, but it doesn't at others. See the 1999 and 2001 silver proof sets for example.

It seems a lot of the " pre-State Qtr. Sets" can be attained for at or below issue price.....but I'd agree with Davis..... " post-State Qtr. Sets" seem to hold their value very nicely, espicially certain years, and I CERTAINLY expect 2009 Sets to hold their "issue price" quite well. Lincoln Copper Cent Craze !

I'll wait. With the Lincoln Cent craze, the mint will turn out zillions of sets to satisfy the collectors. In a few years they'll be cheaper (probably.)

Just 5 silver proof sets only. I know I should be getting into more, but I prefer the pure/proof as opposed to the clad or UNC- which I really don't like at all.

To those who feel the wait will "Pay Off" I wish you luck.Take it from someone who collects Mint and Proof sets from 1954, IMHO, you are not likely to find these sets cheaper than the Mints offering now, of course just my opinion.Especially with all the coinage this year, copper cents included........
