When I give the kids and grandkids numismatic gifts in the form of coin albums, it's always Dansco.

Malissa, thanks for showing those. One place in their catalog they refer to the strips as plastic, and in another they call them vinyl. I wonder if they are PVC-free?

I believe the confusion is because the insert is a stiffer material and the outside page is softer. I guess it is plastic insert and vinyl pages. I do know that unitrade makes some pretty high quality stuff and like any other company out there, the older albums probably have pvc and the newer stuff would be pvc-free.

I know I have been using for quite a few years now and have not had a problem even in the older albums I had. (though I switched them out anyway just to be on the safe side)

I cut small shims out of a 2x2 myself to make all my coins snug in my 7070 album. Its a pain to get them in there and stuff but I just can't stand having my coins spin around and flop around in the album so it was definitely worth the time

I recently bought the new Dansco for Lincoln cents since 1909.

I like that they split up the wheats and memorial cents, so you get a few blank slots after 1958.

I like that they had the proper slots for 2009.

I don't like that they printed dates and mint marks for 2010+. They included 2010-P, 2010-D and so on until...2021! That assumes there won't be any change in the coinage, which is not a safe bet. I would have much rather just had numerous empty slots.
