Hi,

I have looked at this, then thrown it back and then I retrieved it for another look. It doesn't look right to me but it may just be toning and wear. I would appreciated more learned members opinions please. Is it real or counterfeit?

The top milled coin is a 1999 one with a similar level of wear on the rim to the 1994 coin.

Thank you.

Interesting find. It might have suffered in an atypical environment, explaining the unusual aging. However, we will have to wait for a more expert analysis.

It weighs light. 6.37g vs 6.58g average over another 4 coins.

What do you think about the metal under the chip on the left? It looks different to normal damaged coins.

It's either counterfeit, or a "coca-cola coin" - acid-damaged, or similar such corrosion. Acid would also explain being slightly underweight.

Thank you Sap. Chemical exposure may explain the copper coloured chip as well. It also crossed my mind that it may have been dropped on a beach and exposed to salt water and sand abrasion.
