While there is justifiable disagreement over who the inventor of the radio was - with Nikola Tesla and Guglielmo Marconi at the forefront of the debate - it can't be argued that it was Marconi who developed a working, long-distance wireless device (using some of Tesla's inventions) that sent and received transmissions across the Atlantic Ocean (on December 12, 1901.)
Here's a 100 Lire coin from Italy, issued in 1974, to mark the 100th Anniversary of Marconi's birth. The obverse features a portrait of Marconi; the reverse depicts a Marconi radio transmitter antenna.
