My friend Bill and I attended the ANA "World's Fair of Money" in Chicago yesterday. The show was packed. We only made through a portion of the dealers during our time there. I did come home having checked off one of the coins on my "Bucket List". Ever since I stared collecting as a teenager, over fifty years ago, I have wanted to purchase a 1914-D Lincoln Cent. I found a dealer who had several nice examples graded AU-53, AU-50 and XF-45 by PCGS. I decided upon the XF-45 since it was $700 less that the other two and didn't look all that different. It has a very attractive brown color and good details. There are some scattered marks on the E in ONE and CENT, but other than that, not too many marks for the grade. There was some very impressive displays. Here is a 1913 Liberty nickel along with an 1804 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. (Sorry that the photo isn't better.) And also a 1943 Copper Wheatie graded MS-63 Red and an AU-55 1944 Steel Cent. Paul Bulgerin

Feels good to cross off a bucket list item--well done. Will you replace it on your list with one of those off-metal strikes?

Well done Paul!!! Excellent example you found there, smart move $$$-wise! The coin looks to have very nice detail for the issue and it's an AU slider. This is a case of buying the coin and not the holder. Folks - That's a the way an experienced collector buys a coin!
