Good day everyone, I was sent a notification from Amazon about a new book by Lucas Ford called "Valuable U.S. Error Coin Guide 2024" I apologize ahead of time that I do not recognize this name/person in the Error Coin World..I am sure there are many I would not recognize though could probably Google some history on them I would hope.. Seems a little odd searching him on Google nothing comes about him that I could find... I want to purchase this book if I could verify, and knew a little history on the author. If anyone knows who/about this please let me know. Kindly, bjg

Perhaps I'm missing something (quite possible...), but I'm drawing a blank on Lucas Ford. There's a Lucas Ford dealership in New Jersey...

Never heard of him. I suspect this is either partially ChatGPT or just ripped text from random articles.
Look at the list of coins in the contents of the preview, some are just nonsense and it's super inconsistent on how they're titled.
The more I look at it, the more this feels like an AI-generated book and a fake author. I don't think this is legit.

I went straight to the Reviews of the book that shows 24% are only 1-star reviews. Most of these reviews note that no one seems to know the author or how he's a ' renowned numismatist ' I also see a lot of claims that the book is mostly 'borrowed' from the text of other books and websites. It's a bit off-putting to see the line 'Featuring Over 120 Clear Images of Errors that Worth Money' in the title of the listing. Looks like he missed the word 'are' between 'that' and 'Worth.' I'll pass on this book as I think that the CCF has this topic covered better, with many more than 120 clear images and much more information, as do any number of other error-dedicated websites.

Did a reverse lookup on his author's photo and found out that he also goes by the name "Elshow De Johnny Welch". This is what his alter ego can do: Quote: Renowned blogger Elshow De Johnny Welch lays bare the duties of a gaming auditor on his easy-to-read and informative website. Johnny's blog provides a clear explanation of the role and importance of a gaming auditor for both new and experienced observers in the gaming business. He explores a wide range of topics, including maintaining gaming industry rules and practices and ensuring fair play. Johnny's blog stands out for his ability to simplify the complex parts of gaming auditing, making it a valuable resource for anyone interested in the sector in particular. Elshow De Johnny Welch's blog is a reliable resource if you're looking for a concise and useful guide to gaming auditing, providing insights and professional advice to help you make sense of the ever-changing gaming industry. With so many great books on Numismatics, I think you should pass on this one as I question the credentials of the author.

@all responders, thank you so much! I noticed my post was taken off last night so didn't expect this or a response at all..I just found this evening it was moved told where I could find it.. I'm always looking for new error books, websites etc. This one I almost bought, though getting this feeling the notification I received also said I follow this person..Had it not raised that flag I may have bought it... I know now everything is potentially a scam.. A book would have been the last thing I would think was a scam of sorts. Thanks again everyone, I did not, I will not purchase book.. I hope others don't get duped by this..
