Hi
I recently bought some pl set without envelope and certificate. In my other sets, some of them are in yellow envelop (9x15cm). I can't find anything in my local staples store. They only have bubble envelope for shipping.

Where did you find your envelope or order them when yours PL sets came without anything?

Thanks

From 1961 to 1970 the envelopes were brown and in 1970 it was a transition year and they started to put pictures on the envelopes ever since. To answer your question about getting envelopes you need try a different stationary supplier, I have seen them in the past and I think Amazon has something that will work for you.

Every once in a while you see groups of empty envelopes for sale on ebay.
I've always wondered "who would buy this" now I know.
Many hundreds of US Proof and Uncirculated empty envelopes on ebay currently , no Canadian.
Maybe if you're patient...

Thanks. For me, I used the envelope to mark down varieties of the PL set. It's a bit more complicated when the envelope is missing.

"Proof-Like": coins minted specially for mint sets. They are usually considered their own finish, neither proof nor mint state.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

In Canada, "proof-like" sets are called Uncirculated Set by the RCM. One can get into quite a heated discussion when defining the term. At one time they were a special minted set of circulation coins produced by the mint for collectors. Since 2011 the set contains regular circulation coins wrapped in cellophane and at a high premium ($26.95 CAD) - face value $3.90 CAD (some call the coins in sets since 2011 NBU, Numismatic Brilliant Uncirculated)

This differs from the American usage of the term "proof-like".
