One does wonder how the Irish and Newfoundlanders might have felt about being left off of the list of Dominions named on this medal. It's perhaps a good thing this was not the "official" medal, but rather one produced by private mint J.R. Gaunt & Sons Ltd (hence the "JRG" initials on the obverse). The "ECrP" initials on both sides of this medal are for the engraver, Edward Carter Preston, who is perhaps most famous for also designing the "Dead Man's Penny" memorial plaques given to families of fallen British Empire soldiers.
It should go without saying that this "coronation" never actually took place. A coronation did actually go ahead as planned on that date (12th May 1937), but it was Edward's brother George VI who was crowned instead. J.R. Gaunt would go on to produce more medals for the actual coronation, re-using the reverse of the Edward VIII medals: https://en.numista.com/545730

Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
