There seems to be a large proportion of participants who have yet to receive their gifts considering the date... I bet the Canada Post strike has a lot to do with this.

Quote: I bet the Canada Post strike has a lot to do with this. I mailed my package to a Canadian recipient on November 20th - and still waiting for delivery.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

The USPS site has the following banner at the top: Quote:Alert: Canada Post advises that the strike by its employees has ended. However, international mail service to Canada is still suspended. READ MORE. The "Read More" link has the following: Quote: Effective Dec. 23, 2024, the Postal Service has been advised by Canada Post that the strike by its employees has ended. USPS suspension of acceptance of mail and packages bound for Canada remains temporarily unchanged as we monitor Canada Post's progress as they process the volumes that were staged during the strike. We anticipate reopening acceptance of Canada bound volume within the next two weeks and we appreciate our customers patience as we continue to monitor developments in Canada.

Sigh, sounds like Santa's sleigh can't fly for two more weeks.

I wonder if it might be helpful to clarify the unfortunate Canadian postal delivery issues impact on this year's CCF gift exchange.
Suggestion - our tremendous Santa host rggoodie could append an (CAN) to every name still awaiting a gift sent from or to a Canadian address.
I believe this would help those members who did their best to ship their Secret Santas to/from Canada but still have no results due to no-fault of their own.

Secret Santa for the score! Arrived today - an excellent US Large Cent 1800! (I'm still struggling with this new phone camera - coin is much more chocolatey in color and date is very visible in hand). A fantastic gift, as it's a wonderful addition to my quite meager early US coinage. And to make the gift even better, GOLD! Thank you, Secret Santa, for these wonderful gifts that are treasured and greatly appreciated! Also, there was a lovely card - based on Santa's address in California and mine, it is a scene quite unlikely to be seen near neither of our homes! US 1 Cent 1800

Quote: are all the staples flattened out on the other side? Of course they were! Do you think that someone thoughtful enough to gift such wonderful items would be a noob?

So today its christmas eve on my side of the pond [ yes Sants lives in the Scandis so he starts with us] Its morning here so I started with coffe and secret santa. What a group of wondeful gifts from the lone star state. First a token, are these for public transportation? A wondeful howling wolf canadian with the lovely second portrait A stunning Peso. this coin is so nice! I love the reverse. A mighty 1913 1st type of imho one of the most beautyful american coins, 5 cent iron tail and two moons (sorry big tree). Now I have both 1st and 2nd. As my Santa hoped for And some eatable gold with a lovely card explaining the idea behind this thoughtful gift, all wrapped up nicely. Thank you so much Secret Santa, wonderful gifts and it warms my heart. I have reached the age when we rarely get presents and even more rare, gifts that I want. This also shows that it pays off to be nice [ and that santa is not imune to clerical errors ) Wish you all a happy holidays!
