jackson12345 Valued Member Canada 71 Posts	Posted 10/19/2024 11:29 pm Hello again everyone. Has anyone ever seen or have knowledge of this unique 1917 Wheat penny? The numeral "1" is replaced by 2 dots. This coin was amongst a pile of other very dirty pennies in a bag labeled "metal detector finds". This also explains the rough, corrosive surface from being in the ground a long time. Surprisingly, the date is the boldest, most well-preserved part of the coin! Suggestions on how to proceed with a coin like this? There are many valuable "dot" coins out there! Including a few photos with different angles. I look forward to your replies. Thanks. Most of my 1917 LMC are very circulated and hard to make out the date etc. On this coin I can clearly see the date. I would keep it. Report this Post to the Staff
