Re-post.......

Eaglefoot, based on two rolls for $100.00 right now, all four versions would be roughly $400.00 and I'm betting that the premium for a complete set will push it over $1000.00.

The folks who adamantly ONLY want to pay "face value" for these "cheap/Zinc" coins and "paying extra for the Mint wrapping" etc., etc., etc., .......would just be beside themselves with bewilderment and annoyance if the "complete Set" were to sell for that ! .... (They'll be yelling.... "But my Bank wrapped rolls are the same exact coin ! .....and all the while their cute little Stringer bank rolls are selling for $4.00 or $5.00 apiece ! Hee Hee......just doesn't make any sense huh ? ....Ha Ha LoL ! )

I'm not trying to be a goody two shoes with the conscience commnet. However, just noting out loud, that the Mint get's paid regardless. And they are going to sell out on these units. They get the same $$'s if they sell one unit to one person or every roll to the same person. So, you're not hurting the Mint. However, the folks that are takeing more than their share...you're just making it harder for your friends here and collectors in general to get their 5 sets. If you're ok with that...

Before you ask, when the clerk gives me too much change I return it. I also help little old ladies across the street.

Hawkeye, you state "more than their share..." Personally, rationing anything is anti capitalistic. But to keep things "fair" as you have mentioned, my co-worker bought five sets and is selling them to me for her price. Her credit report gets a positive "tick" and I get five more sets. Why do I want five more sets? I have six children and want to pass down a complete set of the 2009 One Cent coins to each child. Why should I let the mint exclude one of my children?

I, too, ALWAYS return the change if I am given too much. But that is a different issue than "price control", "quantity control", "rent control", and "rationing."

Not to be a wise guy but I figure my extra 10 rolls are 10 less rolls you will see on HSN

If I don't get them they definitely will

just got home from work and for kicks and giggles got onto the mint product catalog to see if thing working faster. It was working as normally, and it was, so if anybody is waiting for things to slow down so that you can order your LP2's, now would be a good time before they are gone.

I do not expect June 1 to be anything like today.

Proof sets as a rule do not sell out. If they need to make a million, I believe they will.

I called the US Mint and ordered two sets of the 2009 "formative years" Lincoln cents. I waited about 20 minutes to talk to an operator. On the US Mint website it says delivery on 5/29, but the operator said they will deliver the coins in July.
