As a number of you know, a portion of my coin collection is sourced from metal detecting finds. And for every collection worthy candidate, there are likely 100 or more spenders that get tossed into a 2-gallon jar. Every few years - or when that jar approaches 30lbs - I visit the local Coinstar for a time-consuming dump. And here we are, two Coinstar visits later, my jar is empty.

The Jar

Docc's-1000th-Post-Giveaway---Sharpen-A-Pencil---Ends-On-11/24/24-At-8pm-Mst.

The Rejects
Docc's-1000th-Post-Giveaway---Sharpen-A-Pencil---Ends-On-11/24/24-At-8pm-Mst.

The Challenge
• 1st prize - guess the net amount I walked away with (considering fees and rejects)
• 2nd prize - guess the total number of coins listed on the receipts from Coinstar.

The Clues
• The jar weighed 31lbs 3.5oz when I decided it was time to purge.
• The coins in the jar went thru a 10-minute ultrasonic wash cycle beforehand. That does not necessarily mean that all the extra weight of encrustation has been removed.
• The highest count coin had almost a 4 to 1 lead over the 2nd highest and almost a 10 to 1 lead over the lowest.
• The VDI (tone) for Nickels is also the VDI for 22 bullet casings.
• There should be no Half Dollars or small Dollars although one or two may have slipped thru.
• There is no silver in the jar (I hope), and no Wheaties. It is all clad and post-Wheatie Lincolns.

The Rules
• The winner of 1st prize will be closest to the combined net amount shown on the two receipts. Images of the receipts will be posted when the winners are announced.
• The winner of 2nd prize will be the closest to the total count of Coinstar-accepted coins.
• Each participant can guess 1 time. Any edited posts are disqualified so doublecheck typing before submitting. A single participant can win both prizes.
• The contest will run for 10 days ending on 11/24/24 at 8PM MST.
• Apologies to all our foreign members, I will only ship within the US.

The Prizes
In furtherance of my with respect to the VaultBox ecosystem, we will call this FreeBox. Very similar in concept however, you don't have to cough up $199. It could be a Mickey Mouse Token or it might be a Stella ()
