I have attached a couple photos of this 1944 Lincoln Wheat penny which the appearance seems like a streaming effect obverse/reverse. Also, I have weighed it 10x and it stays at 2.8g. Is this just a thin planchet or something else going on worth more investigation or just a good one to keep in file behind me?

Thanks as always.

Looks like it was abraded by a wire wheel or brush.

I'm thinking that it was damaged by acid. It's PMD.

It does have an interesting look, regardless of the how.

I'm thinking exposure to a corrosive environment which contributed to 'lost' metal.

A corroded coin cleaned with a wire brush. See this quite a bit with ancient coins.

Nice. Those wire brushes can be harsh, especially on coins. PMD coin pile behind me it goes. Fun to collect and have. Thanks and rock on.

I'm in the "Camp Acid" type damage.
