If you go with Ikes or Kennedys you should check out APMEX online. They have a lot of these coins at reasonable prices. I bought a lot of Ikes, Kennedys and Franklins from them and I was very satisfied with everything I received. Happy hunting.

Quote: Will do! I am hoping to possibly go to my local coin dealer and add in the coins I am missing in my Jefferson business strike album this weekend. I do like finding most coins through change or coin roll hunting, but there are some coins that would take forever to obtain this way. That is how my Jefferson album was completed. I filled most from circulation, but the last handful I bought because I had the means by then. When I say completed, I meant to date at the time. The album was not full until several years later, but I was able to add them as they were released. Quote:That said, I'd love to get into like Peace dollars, Franklin halves, etc... But uh, the cost is not within my budget due to silver content lol Hopefully someday then.

Quote:I'd love to get into like Peace dollars, Franklin halves My choice would be Franklin for a few reasons. While there are fewer Peace dollar coin years they tend to be more expensive. Both coins are 90% silver but the Peace dollar is heavier so the price will reflect that. Also, the Peace dollar is an older series of coins so condition becomes a factor. You will pay more for a coin with an acceptable amount of wear. I think current availability goes in the Franklin column. There are two "fun" reasons to go with Franklin. He is the first and only non-president to be on a US coin. And, there are no Bugs Bunny Peace dollars.

I didn't even think of that! The whole weight thing. Another coin I like is the Standing Liberty quarter. They don't seem to be very budget friendly, though. I saw a post on here of a comparison awhile back of the Eisenhower Dansco albums for business strike and proof. Honestly, they both looked nice. The business strike album on Amazon currently is a very attractive price at around 32 dollars. I have decided this is the route I am going to go. I like the fact however that Dansco's are pretty customizable. I'm not big on proofs honestly. I will get the regular 7176 album, and go from there. If I decide that I want to get into collecting the proofs, Dansco does sell a separate blank Eisenhower dollar page which I can add later on. This kind of works out better personally, because I like keeping proofs separate usually. Also, there is 9 spots on the blank page and that works out sort of better because if I recall there are 9 proof Eisenhower dollars altogether. I could even technically cheat and add some of the S Clad proofs into the "S" slots of the 7176 album. I don't believe the 7176 album makes any kind of distinction between the "40%" silver S mint BU coins and "S" mint mark, whereas the 8176 album does. I think I'll add a few other random things in the 3 empty spots at the back of the album, just for fun.

I suppose you can add a page for the proofs if you wanted, but there are 11 of them, so two will be in blank spots on the previous page. But if you are sure you will forgo the proofs, then I will not pressure you. I want you to be happy! I am thinking honestly mostly with budget in mind. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the meshing of the proofs and business strikes together. Actually, honestly, the Eisenhower set looks a bit better with them together than most.
This is one of the reasons why I stopped buying Jefferson proofs essentially. I was much more interested in collecting the business strikes.

I was content to keep them that way until I realized some of my Dansco albums had proof holes that needed filling.

All the modern ones I've been doing from change/crh. Though I did just buy all the memorial Pennies but one because those really look bad after a few years in circulation

I was content to keep them that way until I realized some of my Dansco albums had proof holes that needed filling I've started up a new Dansco album, but this time with proofs, just for something different. I am working on various different sets, one of them being this album. I'm also working on my own Buffalo nickel set, and I am contemplating starting a Liberty nickel set. I have made slow progress as well on the Kennedy half dollar business strike set, but it is a nice series. For whatever coin sets that have some really expensive key date coins, which would amount to empty holes in a predetermined set album, I am using the Dansco 2x2 coin album. I was also going to get into the Ike dollars with the Dansco album I got for Christmas, but I really didn't care for how small it was. A tiny album filled with two pages hardly seems worth it IMO. I may or may not try a "proof," album from them for Ikes. Perhaps I will add them into my collection of coin 2x2's. I enjoy honestly the ability to basically make my own set or collection, without worrying about having to purchase expensive coins. It's been nice being able to collect whatever Buffalo nickels I want, without having to worry about collecting expensive varieties or the "three legged buffalo," coins. If you ever changed your mind, they are easily transferred to a new album. Quote:I'd sort of also like to possibly get into Sacagawea dollars and SBA dollars. Not bad choices.

I'd go with the Franklin Halves- without full bell lines. You can do an VF-XF set for the 35 coins for round $500 with the price of silver. Just grab some raw Franklin halves from a local coin shop every time you go to fill your coin album. Plus, you have some silver coins when it's all said and done! 90%.
