Hello, I'm enjoying my new hobby. A chance to slow down a little.
I'm going through about 10 years of coins that I've save up over the years and found this one. I'm thinking it may be a small date copper 1982. I can't tell if it's a D mint mark or a gouge in the cladding. It weighs out at 3.07g. The back side is in worse shape. Yes, I'm the guy that picks up pennies when I walk through parking lots.... :)

To CCF! It's just a normal Philadelphia minted copper cent with damage ( PMD). Worth face value.

Looks like misplaced metal, possibly from the 8, just damaged P mint coin.

Thanks for the quickest reply I've ever had. Now, if I could just get comments on my aviation forums this quick...

I didn't think I could get lucky with this one. Still, this has been a fun month learning a lot about coins. Thank you.

Spend it, regardless but there is nothing on the reverse that would make me think it's a zincoln. Absolutely no zinc rot showing and should with this kind of damage, just a tore up copper coin.

I'm thinking copper. It weighed in at 3.07g. I do a lot of reloading ammo, it's a really good scale. On the other hand, my camera/microscope/viewer is mediocre at best. Would you have any recommendations?
