This trend has littered ebay of hundreds of listings. I encourage all CCF members to report any listings of Morgan's you feel are counterfeit.
I reported about 15 auctions to ebay. Finally, a good action.
I am starting to stack Morgans again and this is not welcoming.
Always buy from reputable dealers with very high and good feedback.

It's not just Morgans. I see the same with many popular international coins. Sorry, but I'm not buying 19th century European coins from a seller in Kazakhstan.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I've been bitten by the counterfeit bug twice ... painful. I'm simply not buying on ebay. Can't measure, can't weigh etc.

I saw a 93S Morgan "sold" for $260 ... disgusting, so obvious.

Perhaps fakes will eventually break future interest in big, expensive silver coins?

I just bought a 5 coin lot from a notable, reputable seller I have dealt with in the past.
Here is what I told ebay about my experience with this seller. Whether or not they take it seriously is, well, up to them.
