Thanks, jbuck and CoolBreeze! Quote: Do you also have a Red Seal $10 or $20 to pair with your new $5? Not yet, but I'm looking! I'm selling a bunch of coins on GC now, and I plan on using those proceeds to pick up some notes. Another red seal FRN will be fairly high on my wish list!

The red seals look striking when they are bright and original. A $5, $10, and $20 would make a great set!

Three new pickups for my large size type set. These are all seller's pics. First is an 1875 $10 NBN from The FNB of Springfield, Kentucky, Charter #1767. This charter has 16 large size notes in the T&P census, with two of them being 1875 series, one a $2 note and this $10 note. I found it interesting that the signature of the cashier was not listed for this charter in the SPMC National Bank Lookup database; if you notice, there is a written "pro tem" after the printed "Cashr." on the signature line, so evidently the signature was of the acting cashier. I've not found any info on who James A. Kelly is, but I've shared this with the SPMC and hope to find out a bit more about this. The next note is a $5 1863 Legal Tender note. The radar serial number didn't matter to me, but I thought the note was very attractive despite the very tight trim which just touches the design in the top right of the face of the note. Lastly, an 1886 $2 Silver Certificate. I found this a nice example for the grade and I'm happy to add it to my collection.

Those are absolutely gorgeous notes, Hokie! Just beautiful - WOW is all that I can say!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Quote: Those are absolutely gorgeous notes, Hokie! Just beautiful - WOW is all that I can say! Well put @Hondo Boguss! I looked the 1863 $5.00 LT & 1886 $2.00 SC up on Numista & they all had Numista Rarity Index scores of 100 (meaning nobody of the 298,000+ members owned either note!) Couldn't find the FNB of Springfield $10 so I'm sure its in the same scarce category as the other two rarities. Incredible trio with EPQ & fabulous eye appeal.

Thank you very much, walk2dwater! I recently sold some coins on Great Collections, so decided to splurge a bit on my currency type set!

A new addition to my large size type set, a $5 1882 Date Back National Bank Note. This note is new to the Track&Price census. I'm quite happy with this one - though it has several heavy folds, it has good color and nice clear signatures.
